A snap fastener assembly or a kit of parts for such an assembly comprises a fastener element having a base 7 bearing against or for bearing against one face of a support S, centrally located fastening means 8 for engaging a mating snap fastener element, and a post 11 for projecting through and beyond a hole 17 in the support, and an attaching member 13 bearing against or for bearing against the other face of the support S and having an aperture 14 for receiving the post, the post 11 being upset into tight fitting engagement with the aperture, and a skirt 15 radially spaced from the aperture and fitting into or for fitting into the hole in the support S. As shown, the fastener element is a socket member which is intended to cooperate with a mating stud member, both members being made of a plastics material. |
