The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1123657/C2/1> wherein X is F or Cl. These compounds are made by brominating 3-XC6H4NCO or by forming the -NCO group in a suitable precursor containing the 3,4-XBrC6H3-group.ALSO:Water-repellent properties are imparted to natural and synthetic fibres and fabrics by impregnation with a solution in an organic solvent of a compound of formula <FORM:1123657/D1-D2/1> wherein X is F or Cl and allowing to dry; optionally a heat treatment is effected after impregnation. |
