<p>Uranate compsns. produced by H2SO4 digestion of crushed uraniferous minerals and pptn. by lime or magnesite, are further digested using HNO3 in the presence of CaF2. The material is filtered, washed and extracted with TBP to yield an organic phase contg. uranyl nitrate which is sepd. and worked conventionally to recover the U-values. The redigestion with CaF2 ensures complete insolubilisation of SiO2.</p> |
