PURPOSE:To keep roll roughness and to improve wear resistance regarding cold rolling method of a thin steel sheet by performing laser beam machining on the surface of a roll other than the final stand of a tandem rolling mill and giving laser-dull worked patterns to a thin steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:When the thin steel sheet is rolled, a laser roll on which continuous and uniform laser beam dull machining is executed by an off line laser beam is applied to the front stand other than the final stand of a tandem cold rolling mill, the laser dull-worked pattern is provided with regularly arranged holes having 50-200mu outer diameter D and 5-10mu depth(d) at a pitch interval of 1.5D-2.5D.
