PURPOSE:To faithfully reproduce image data and to provide an exposing device capable of obtaining smooth gradation, on an exposing device capable of obtaining density gradation beams by disposing a pair of polarizing plates transmitting only light in a specific vibrating direction, on the front and rear of a cell whose electric field is changed corresponding to the density value of input data, and allowing beams to pass the polarizing plate and the cell. CONSTITUTION:A device which converts the input data into optical data, produces the beams projected from a light source 7 into optical beams on a beam scanning part 9, and scans an image forming body 51 to carry out an exposure, has a pair of counter electrodes 12 and a filler 13 having a Kerr effect, filled between both electrodes 12, between the light source 7 and the beam scanning part 9, the cell on which a voltage between both electrodes 12 is adjusted according to the density value of the input data, and a pair of the polarizing plates 14 arranged on the front and rear of the cell and transmitting only the beams in the specific vibrating direction, to adopt a constitution that the beams passes a pair of the polarizing plates 14 and the cell. |
