A feeding assembly, for feeding blooms in a cold-rolling tube mill, includes clamping members 1 which intermittently grip a bloom and feed it axially. The members are urged towards one another by cams 7 and rollers 6 and 3, the rollers being carried on arms 4 which are resiliently mounted on transversely adjustable supports 9. Axial movement of the members is controlled by a cam 15 which rotates synchronously but not in phase with the cams 7. The cam acts through a lever 12 pivoted at 16, the pivot axis being adjustable longitudinally of the lever to vary the feeding stroke of the members 1. |
