1,144,104. Chlorine - containing polymerepisulphide polymer compositions. SOLVAY ET CIE. 6 Nov., 1967 [10 Nov., 1966], No. 50328/67. Heading C3P. A composition comprises (a) a chlorine-containing polymer of a vinyl compound, (b) a plasticizer, and (c) a stabilizer system comprising (1) a heat stabilizer and (2) a polymer of formula (R-S) n -(R<SP>1</SP>-S) m obtained by polymerizing a compound or compounds containing an epithio group, where R and R<SP>1</SP> are divalent hydrocarbon radicals and the sum of the integers n and m is at least 40. The weight ratio between (1) and (2)being between 0À5 and 50, the amount of (c) being 0À1 to 10 parts by weight per 100 parts of (a). Many conventional plasticizers and heat stabilizers are mentioned, while the chlorine-containing polymers are suitably vinyl chloride polymers, which may be after-chlorinated. In the examples, component (a) is polyvinyl chloride or after-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, component (c) (2) is ethylene sulphide homopolymer, propylene sulphide homopolymer, or ethylene sulphide-propylene sulphide copolymers, while other components are stearyl alcohol, montan wax, dibasic lead phthalate, dibasic lead stearate, dibutyl tin mercaptide, epoxidized soya oil, tribasic lead sulphate, lead stearate, ditridecyl phthalate, 2 - mercapto - benzimidazole, diisooctyl phthalate, calcium laurate, zinc laurate, chlorinated polyethylene, cadmium stearate, ethylene/ vinyl acetate copolymer, 3,5-epoxy-6-methyl. cyclohexyl - methyl - 3,4 - epoxy - 6 - methyl hexanoate, pentaerythritol, and polymeric polysulphides. |
