<p>PURPOSE: To decide loss of a block end signal of a data group, so that decoded image signal blocks are correctly allocated with each other and to prevent incidence of distortion of a decoded image due to a shift through the compensation by a receiver. CONSTITUTION: A block 60 generates video image signals and groups them, and each image signal includes a block end signal denoting the end of its block. Coding means 62, 64 connecting to the block 60 encode the image signal in a prescribed code form and produce a code data stream having a coded image signal and the block end signal. Devices from a stage 66 to a multiplexer 74 are connected to the coding means 64 that groups the coded data streams so that each of the coded data streams belongs to each data group having the block end signals of a prescribed number (n). Thus, loss of the block end signal of the data group is decided, so that the decoded image signal blocks are correctly allocated with each other, and the blocks are compensated at a receiver. Thus, occurrences of distortion in the decoded image due to shifting is prevented.</p> |
