Shapes simulating natural granite are produced by mixing granite particles, e.g. granite quarry waste with a green binder, compacting the mix into shapes having a density at least 93% of that of the naturally occurring granite and firing the shapes at 1150-1300 DEG C. to sinter the particles. The binder may be bentonite clay in an amount up to 5% by weight of the granite particles, and preferably finer than 150 mesh B.S.S. |
