<p>PURPOSE: To provide the color signal processing method for HDTV and method therefor, in which DC components are separated from a low-frequency band sharing most parts of luminance and chrominance signals and the resulting signals are transmitted as digital data, the other parts are transmitted together with analog signals to improve the transmission efficiency and the transmitted digital signals are interpolated and inverse QMF and expansion processing is applied on the resulting digital signal with the transmitted analog signal for preventing deterioration in the image quality. CONSTITUTION: Decimation processing is applied to a prescribed frequency band, so that video signals are set to have values M with respect to horizontal, vertical and time axes three-dimensionally, and other decimation processing is applied twice to the decimated video image by dividing the frequency band into n-band divisions, DC components of lowest horizontal and vertical frequencies are separated in the n-band divisions, and the resulting signal is transmitted as digital data. Transmitted digital data are interpolated, and the interpolation signal and analog signal data are interpolated separately by a vertical and a horizontal frequency bands. An interpolated output is interpolated again with respect to the horizontal, the vertical and the time axes three-dimensionally and then expanded.</p> |
