Instead of using a suction roller at the return end of the travelling screen, the return roller is preceeded by a long curved suction box with a hardened, perforated upper surface, and divided into several suction compartments. The screen falls somewhat at the return end as it approaches the return roller, i.e. the roller is below the level of the horizontal run of the screen. For a double screen machine, curved suction boxes are arranged each side of the screen. |
