Manufacture of heat insulating fabric

A reinforcing textile fabric having voids constituting 75% of the unit area has a closed cell polyurethane foam sheet adhered to one side of it. An adhesive which does not penetrate or spread is deposited on the exposed surface of the foam sheet by a roller having a discontinuous surface. Flock fibres are distributed over the adhesive before it dries. The roller may have the surface formed of a series of parallel grooves and ribs so that the sheet has a series of parallel strips of adhesive.
