<p>The appts. which is particularly useful in melting a curing agent such as MOCA (RTM) prior to dispensing it into a resin to be cured, includes a vertically disposed hopper, the base of which is formed by an electrically heated member shaped so that material melted upon its surface runs downwards towards its periphery, whence it falls through an annular aperture into a collecting pan form which it may be dispensed. The annular aperture is formed between the rim of the heated member and heated cylindrical flange-like member supported by the wall of the hopper. The upper edge of the flange-like member projects above the edge of the heated member and the upper regions of the member are heated to a lesser degree than the lower regions. In such an apparatus, bridging of the solid material and localised hot spots are prevented and an increased output achieved.</p> |
