A method of welding PVC components consists of laying a weld thread in the gap between them and softening it with hot air. The thread is of triangular cross-section, fitting into the V-shaped or X-shaped gap. The hot air feed unit has >=2 lateral nozzles impinging on the sides of the thread and one central nozzle blowing into the groove. Advantages are a more simply constructed groove than with a U-shape, and less wastage. |
