PURPOSE:To enable smoothing without losing the modulation of an image or edge information and to execute smoothing corresponding to image contents. CONSTITUTION:This image smoothing device consists of a digital image data input part 101 which is provided to input the digital image data of 8 bits as the input image, a digital image data development part 102 which is provided to develop the digital image data inputted through the digital image data input part 101 to the matrix of 5X5, and a digital image data smoothing part 103 which is provided to execute a smoothing processing according to matrix operation by using the 5X5 matrix prepared at the digital image data development part 102 and a smoothing filter weighting an attention picture element to peripheral picture elements. |
