A process for preparing lead oxide containing piezoelectric ceramic bodies capable of being sintered to greater than 90 percent of theoretical density at temperatures of 800 to 1,100 DEG C by subjecting an intimate mixture of lead compounds with other materials to thermal dehydration or decomposition in a high temperature fluid energy mill.
