<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a diffusion property of heat generated by a light emitting diode. <P>SOLUTION: This light emitting device is provided with: a light emitting unit 11 having light emitting diodes 112 mounted on a board 111; a cover 12 arranged on the back surface 11b side of the light emitting unit 11; and a heat transfer member 13 arranged on the back surface 11b of the light emitting unit 11.
