PURPOSE:To improve a workability and an operability at the time of copying a thick book type original. CONSTITUTION:A controller is provided with original size detecting sensors S2-S8 for detecting the presence or absence of the original and the size of the original placed on a contact glass when a detection signal by a sensor S1 for detecting the opening/closing of a pressure board shows that the pressure board is set in an open state, and also the controller is provided with controlling means CPU 303 and ROM 301 for deciding whether or not the original on the contact glass is replaced based on the change in the detection signals by the original size detecting sensors S2-S8, and for automatically starting a copying operation in the case of deciding that the original has been replaced. |
