The zeolite may have the following lattice parameters a0 = 12À6 Œ 0À2 Š, b0 = 11À1 Œ 0À2 Š, c0 = 24À4 Œ 0À4 Š and # = 108 Œ 1 degree with a composition (in terms of mole ratios) of: where R is an organic ammonium ion, M<1> an alkali metal ion, 0<x<1 and z is 0-60. The zeolite may be prepared by crystallizing a mixture having the following composition (in terms of mole ratios): The R4N<+> ion may be provided by reacting together an alkylamine and an n-alkyl halide in situ. The cations may be ion-exchanged with NH4<+>, H<+>, W, V, Mo, Re, Co, Cr, Mn, Ca, Zn, Pt, Pd, Ni and rare-earth ions.
