<p>The vessel for heating and stirring water for denture cleaning, has a cup shaped container made of e.g. plastics material to hold the liquid, mounted above the upturned arms of a stator (1) with pole pieces (1a, 1b) mounted at their tops, this stator carrying excitation windings (16) to form an induction motor, with a disc shaped rotor (3) mounted on a vertical spindle (7) which locates in a supporting block (8) between the stator arms. Thus the rotor, which carries stirrer arms (4) rotates inside the container, while the liquid inside is heated by Foucault currents. In an alternative design, the rotor rotates about a horizontal spindle, and the edge of the rotor passes between the gap between the ends of a C-shaped stator, the bottom of the container being correspondingly shaped.</p> |
