Faulty film splice detector - reverse bends spliced band for continuous loop processing to test splices and sensors detect loose or broken ends

Appts. detects imperfect splices where individual films have been spliced together for continuous loop processing in equipment used in film processing laboratories. The film (1) is run through a wheel arrangement (2, 6, 7, 8) which reverse bends the film several times. Any breakge or parting of a splice and also any protuberance such as an unstuck splice operates the alarm sensing levers (9, 11) to activate either alarm or stop mechanism so that the defect may be located.
