PURPOSE:To provide the novel and useful element structure with which high information quality is obtainable by increasing a Kerr rotating angle and sufficiently decreasing reflected light on a substrate surface. CONSTITUTION:A transparent dielectric film 4 and an amorphous alloy thin film 3 consisting of rare earths and transition metal are laminated on the rear surface side of a substrate 1 to form a recording material. A reflected light quantity is decreased and the Kerr rotating angle is increased by this constitution. On the other hand, the transparent dielectric films 6, 7 are formed on the front surface side of the substrate, by which the reflected light quantity of the incident light not contributing to the collection of information from the substrate surface is decreased. |
