A METHOD OF PRODUCING A DECORATIVE ARTICLE AND ARTICLES SO PRODUCED A method of producing a decorative article suitable for use in the manufacture of jewellery and other decorative items wherein portion of a sheet of light diffractive material is positioned in a preformed plastic backing and a clear resin is poured into the backing over the light diffractive material whereupon curing of the resin a transparent cover is formed over the light diffractive material and any other decorative material which may be placed thereon.
