PURPOSE:To elevate the accuracy avoiding effect of bending moment, concentrated load or axial force by providing a mobile electrode on a rotary flange fastened on a torque tube and a pair of fixed electrodes on a fixed flange. CONSTITUTION:A rotary flange 1 and a fixed flange 2 are fastened at ends of a torque tube 3 respectively and a mobile electrode 4 is fastened on the rotary flange 1 while a pair of fixed electrodes 51 and 52 on the fixed flange 2. Therefore, when a measuring torque T is applied on the mobile flange 1, the torque tube 3 is twisted only by an angle theta to change the clearance between the mobile electrode 4 and the fixed electrodes 51 and 52. These mobile electrode 4 and the fixed electrodes 51 and 52 form a capacitor operating differentially and a specified computation of measured capacity thereof derives a value proportional to a torque T thereby enabling the measurement of the torque T. |
