PURPOSE:To supply a film from a multi-stage negative reel in which the trailing end of a film on a wind-off anterior reel is connected to the leading end of a film on a posterior reel, always at a constant speed in association with variations in the diameter of the negative reel and the stage-shift of thereof, by providing a reel rotating mechanism, a supply amount adjusting mechanism and a stage-shift mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A film 1 is wound off from an anterior reel of a multi-stage negative reel 11 including a reel rotating mechanism 12, a supply amount adjusting mechanism 14 and a stage-shift mechanism 15, and the reel rotating mechanism 12 is controlled while the tension of the film is detected. Thereby, the film supply amount is always maintained substantially constant even if the diameters of the negative reel 11 is gradually reduced. Further, when the film on the anterior reel is consumed so that the stage-shift is made to set up a reel at the next stage, for winding off a film on a posterior reel through the leading end of the film which is connected to the trailing end of the film on the anterior reel, the stage-shift is detected so that the reel rotating mechanism 12 is controlled. Accordingly, the supply amount of the film may be maintained substantially constant even if the diameter of the negative reel varies from its minimum to its maximum.
