PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of crack and ruggedness in a casting product by projecting a sliding pin into the space formed of a pair of molding flasks which are held in press contact with each other, filling a molten metal into the space and retreating the sliding pin before the molten metal solidifies thoroughly. CONSTITUTION:A moving die 2 fitted freely slidably with the sliding pin 7 as a core is brought into press contact with a stationary die 7 by means of a cylinder device to form the space 3 for casting. The pin 7 is adequately projected into the space 3. The molten metal is poured in this state into a sleeve 5 and an injection plunger 6 is advanced to fill the molten metal in the sleeve 5 via a runner 4 into the space 3. The pin 7 is retreated before the molten metal solidifes thoroughly and after the molten metal around the pin 7 solidifies. The molten is thus allowed to solidify while shrinking freely into the space made after the retreat of the pin 7, by which the generation of the crack and ruggedness is suppressed. |
