PURPOSE:To provide the titled mud sampler easy to handle and capable of faithfully collect a sample, constituted so that a wt. is fallen to the part of a stopper to embed a mud sampling cylinder in mud and mud is subsequently collected in a shutter operated state. CONSTITUTION:In a mud sampling cylinder 1 having such a structure that one end of a pipe is made detachable to a part of a weight part 2, a leakage preventing shutter 10 is attached to the other end of said mud sampling cylinder 1 and the piston 7 for allowing the interior of said sampling cylinder 1 to communicate with a pipe shaped shaft equipped with an air vent valve is provided in said sampling cylinder 1 so as to be slidable in an air-tight state. By allowing the bottom landing plate 13 mounted to the lowermost end of said sampling cylinder 1, the wt. fixing metal fittings 15 connected to bottom landing plate supports 14 are operated to fall the wt. 12 held by the metal fittings 15 to the part of a stopper 17. After the mud sampling cylinder 1 is embedded in mud, the shutter 10 is operated to collect mud. By this method, mud can be collected as faithful as possible without disturbing each stratum by easy handling. |
