PURPOSE:To obtain an invariably stable image without reference to in-use environment and the surface temperature of a photosensitive body by detecting the temperature of the photosensitive body and varying a developing bias voltage in development according to variation in the detected temperature. CONSTITUTION:The temperature of the photosensitive body is measured by a temperature detecting means 5 consisting of a thermistor, a thermocouple, an infrared sensor, etc., provided nearby or in contact with the photosensitive body 1 and the output of a developing bias power source is varied with the output of the detecting means 5 to control the developing bias voltage applied to a sleeve 2. Consequently, temperature characteristics of the photosensitive body 1 are corrected during the development to obtain an invariably stable image regardless of the temperature of the photosensitive body 1. |
