PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive light source device where light is used efficiently and the quantity of light is not varied, by forming an box body so that all of light reaching directly an exit hole from an incidence hole in the box body is made incident at a prescribed angle or wider on optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:A light source device S consists of a halogen lamp 3a provided with an elliptic reflecting mirror 3b as a reflecting optical system, an integrating box 3d, optical fibers 4, etc., and the incidence hole where an infrared reflecting mirror 3c is formed in one face of the regular hexahedron-shaped integrating box 3d. The integrating box is so set that all of light reaching directly the exit hole, to which optical fibers 4 are connected, from the incidence hole is made incident at a prescribed angle or wider on incidence end faces of optical fibers 4. In this case, it is preferably that said prescribed angle is wider than the angular aperture of optical fibers. |
