PURPOSE:To obtain a color video display device small in consuming power capable of displaying a minute color video by providing a mirror structure for synthesizing the video in an optical path of a central receiver and an eyepiece and inclining and disposing reflecting mirrors in front of the receivers at both sides, respectively. CONSTITUTION:Red color video light from an image receiving surface 1a of a receiver 1 is reflected by the mirror 8, reflected again by the mirror structure 5 for synthesizing the video constituted by intersecting and arranging dichroic mirrors 6, 7 and reaches to the eyepiece system 4. Similarly, blue color video light from an image receiving surface 2a of a receiver 2 is reflected by the mirror 9a, reflected again by the structure 5 and reaches to the eyepiece system 4. Green color video light from an image receiving surface 3a of a receiver 3 transmits the structure 5 and reaches to the eyepiece system 4. The image receiving surfaces 1a, 2a of the receivers 1, 2 are placed more nearly to the front part than the image receiving surface 3a of the receiver 3 and the length of the optical path from the respective image receiving surfaces to the eyepiece system 4 is set. In this manner, by using an optical synthesis of the structure, the minute color video can be displayed with the low power by the use of three monochromatic receivers.
