PURPOSE:To obtain the titled element having less tendency for generating the deformation of a display electrode due to heat, and capable of effecting the display having a high quality for a long period by incorporating a specific org. silicone compd. polymer to a protective film of the display electrode. CONSTITUTION:The display electrode is formed with the transparent conductive film composed of indium tin composite oxides. The exposed part of the display electrode is coated with the protective film made of polyorganosiloxane. The protective film is easily produced by coating organosiloxane oligomer, followed by heating it for a short period of time at a low temp. whereby the display electrode does not change in quality in the formation of the protective film. The formed protective film is composed of the excellent film having the same quality to that of a SiO2 film formed by the vacuum depositing method. The display electrode is completely cut off from an electrolytic solution, thereby preventing a deterioration and a breaking of a wire of the display electrode. Thus, the good quality of the titled element can be stably maintained for a long period of time.
