PURPOSE:To enable stable printing to be performed irrespective of the thickness of an envelope, and the presence of a content in the envelope or the like, by providing a platen at a printing part with left and right side boats independently suspended. CONSTITUTION:Ski form side boats 11 are positioned relative to a platen shaft 12 through bearings 13, and are independently suspended on the left and right sides, respectiely. Relative positions of a stroke of a stamp 5 and a mask 8 is maintained by a pinch roller 7. A contact point (a) of an envelope 1 and the side boat 11 and a contact point a' of the side boat 11 and a feeding guide 9 are changed according to the feeding condition of the envelope 1, so that an excessive pressure is prevented from being exerted on the envelope 1, and an unnecessary operation of an envelope-sealing part T can be controlled. Since the side boats 11 are suspended independently on the left and right sides, the pressing of the envelope can be adjusted according to irregular deformations of the envelope 1 due to irregular shapes of the content B of the envelope. Accordingly, normal printing free of voids in printed images or blurring can be constantly performed.
