发明名称 SOLITON COUPLER
摘要 PURPOSE:To form a soliton coupler which selectively couples only with solitons by using a quantum interference gate having an asymmetrical characteristic which discriminate between the solitons and untied solitons traveling through Josephson lines and recognizes them. CONSTITUTION:In case of solitons traveling through first and second Josephson lines 1 and 2, the direction of a current 1c to flow through an inductance 5 becomes the direction shown by the full line in the figure regardless of the travelling direction of the solitons, in the case of untied solitons, the direction of the current Ic becomes the direction shown by the broken lines in the figure and the absolute values of both are equal to each other and the codes of both are reverse to each other. As the characteristic of a quantum interference gate 6, the gate 6 has a characteristic that when the combination of the current Ic and a bias current Ib to be applied to the gate 6 is within the hatched region in the diagram, the gate 6 is switched to generate an output current at a terminal 23, but when the combiantion is within the region on the white ground, the gate 6 is in a superconductive state and no output current flows. Therefore, if the current Ic at the time of traveling of the solitons and the untied solitons is set at a value corresponding to operating points E and D and the current Ib has been designed at a value corresponding to an operating point B, the operating point shifts from B to C only when the solitons pass through and the switch 6 comes to be switched.
