PURPOSE:To obtain a wide visual field angle, and also, a bright display by forming a liquid crystal cell by that of a positive type display, providing a black mask between driving electrodes of a display part of the liquid crystal cell and on the whole surface of a frame part of the liquid crystal cell, and providing a color filter so as to cover the driving electrode. CONSTITUTION:A suitable material to be dyed which is excellent in its dyeing property such as gelatin, etc., is provided so as to be extended to the position of a frame part 10B, and dyeing is executed. That is to say, dyeing of an R color is executed and a color filter 3r is obtained, dyeing of a G color is executed and a color filter 3g is obtained, and dyeing of a B color is executed and a color filter 3b is obtained. On the frame part 10B, each color of R, G and B is overlapped, becomes a black mask, and in the same way, a gap generated between the respective driving electrodes 2 also becomes that which has the same effect as that of the black mask in which for instance, the R color and the G color, etc., are overlapped and a transmission light is attenuated remarkably. Also, the direction of an orientation processing executed to glass substrates 1a, 1b and the axes of polarization of polarizing plates 6a, 6b are adjusted, and a color liquid crystal element becomes that of a positive type. |
