PURPOSE:To simplify the control circuit structure of a windshield wiper, by performing a changeover making a housing function valid or invalid with a miniature switch consisting of one contact small in contact rating. CONSTITUTION:A signal out of a circuit having a housing cancel switch 6 is inputted into a microcomputer 4 making a windshield wiper perform various operations. When a winter position is selected by this housing cancel switch 6, a wiper blade is stopped at an intermittent stop position by a signal out of the microcomputer 4, and it is made so as not to be moved up to a wiper housing position. On the other hand, if the housing cancel switch 6 has selected a summer position, the microcomputer is operated so as to stop the wiper at the wiper housing position. With this constitution, such nonconformity that the wiper comes to inoperative due to snow or the like because the wiper is left in a state of being housed at the winter season is preventable.
