PURPOSE:To miniaturize a measurer for the tension of a buried sheet as well as to raise the efficiency of detection by a method in which a measuring piece is set on the opening face of a sheet, plural conductor wires are integrally provided on the measuring piece, and a pair of lead wires are connected to a measurer. CONSTITUTION:A sheet 1 is laid over soft ground, and good-quality soil is spread over the sheet to apply a tensile stress to the sheet 1 according to the amount of the soil. The initial resistance value R=1/5r, where (r) is the resistance of each conductor wire 12, which is supported by a measurer 16 is obtained. The resistance value R is changed to 1/4r, 1/3r, 1/2r, 1/r, and infinity in order of breaking of test sheets 10A-10E according to tensile loads. Since there is no likelihood of intrusion or exudation of raked soil or sludge, data of high accuracy can be obtained.
