MEDICAL IMAGE RETRIEVING METHOD

PURPOSE:To extract and display a specified image from the huge amount of medical images recorded in an image recording medium with a phrase expressing the symptoms of disease as a retrieval key. CONSTITUTION:The data of diagnostic notices inputted by observing the various medical images inspecting a patient are organized, a diagnostic report file in a recording medium 9 prepared in advance is retrieved with the phrase expressing the disease symptoms of the patient as the retrieval key, and an image identification code applied corresponding to the phrase of the relevant symptoms is read out of the diagnostic report file. Next, an image data storage device is retrieved with this image identification code as a retrieval key, and image data corresponding to the relevant image identification code are extracted from this image data storage device 10 and displayed on a CRT 6.
