PURPOSE:To make the success rate of changeover perfect by detecting the yarn wind-up quantity of a fully wound bobbin and controlling the stopping position of a turret arm so that the contact angle of yarn with an empty bobbin or a yarn restricting guide is within a defined range at the time of the changeover of yarn. CONSTITUTION:As a predetermined quantity of yarn is wound up on a bobbin 30A, a yarn changeover operation starting signal is sent from a control device, and the fully wound bobbin 30A placed in a winding position is moved toward a doffing position while an empty bobbin 30B placed in the doffing position toward the winding position by the rotation of a turret arm 2. At this time, a package diameter D at the end of the winding up is calculated by pulse detectors 11, 12 for detecting the rotations of a pressing roller 5 and a spindle 3A and, based on the calculated wound-up diameter, the stopping position of the turret arm 2 and the projecting position of a yarn course restricting guide 10 are determined to stop same. The stopping position thereof is in such a way that the contact angles of yarn with the empty bobbin 30B are below 30 deg. and below 50 deg. respectively, thereby reducing the contact friction resistance of the yarn to make changeover perfect. |
