Control apparatus for a drier equipped with gas burners (4) for hot air drying of paper webs, the apparatus comprising a control unit (5) which determines supply of air and gas for the burners according to a functional dependence of the drying temperature on the degree of areal coverage of printing on the web. Outputs of the control unit are connected with setting members (16, 17, 18, 19) for setting the air gas for the burners (4). The control unit (5) is arranged downstream of a data input unit (6), the output signals of which are indicative of the measured degree of areal coverage of the printing. Preferably, the apparatus is arranged for operation with webs printed on both sides, with independent measurement of areal coverage, and independent control of burners in upper and lower drying chambers (2, 3). <IMAGE> |
