PURPOSE:To allow the rapid and easy execution of the operation for switching optical lines and to simplify the construction by moving a master connector between the respective multi-fiber connectors on a connector holder thereby attaching and detaching the master connector to and from the selected multi- fiber connector. CONSTITUTION:A moving device 50 moves an attaching/detaching device 40 holding the master connector 32 in two-dimensional directions on the connector holder 20 and the attaching/detaching device 40 attaches and detaches the master connector 32 to and from the required multi-fiber connector 21 on the connector holder 20. A selecting means outputs the selection signal to select one of the plural multi-fiber connectors 21. A control device 60 outputs a driving signal to a moving device 50 in accordance with the selection signal and controls the respective actions at the time of moving the master connector 32 to the positions of the respective multi-fiber connectors 21 and attaches and detaches the master connector 32 to and from the multi-fiber connectors 21. The operation to switch the optical liens is easily and rapidly executed in this way even with the system of the extremely many optical lines, in addition, the construction is simplified.
