The armrest (1), is esp. for a vehicle driver. It can pivot on a bracket (4) fixed to the driver's seat. The armrest consists of a trough-shaped lower part (2) and a hinged cover (3). Space is provided in the rear of the lower part for both the armrest pivot (5) and laterally arranged cover hinge (6). The cover is opened and closed by a spring latch (20) at the front of the armrest. The lower part is sub-divided with means (C) for the secure storage of objects, such as cassettes. USE/ADVANTAGE - Storage space is provided in the armrest in a vehicle driver's seat.
