<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a low-cost active matrix liquid crystal display by decreasing the number of signal-side driver LSIs by employing specific circuit constitution. CONSTITUTION:A gate voltage applied to a scanning electrode is denoted as VG, a drain voltage applied to a signal voltage is denoted as Vp and a common voltage applied to a counter electrode is denoted as VCOS; and a liquid crystal capacitor 1 and a storage capacitor 2 are provided and a storage capacity terminal 20 is also provided. In this circuit constitution, one scanning electrode is divided into two and TFTs which are a half as many as TFTs connected to one scanning electrode before are connected. Two signal electrodes are put in one and TFTs which are twice as many as the TFTs connected to one signal electrode before are connected. The number of signal-side driver LSIs which are several times as expensive as a scanning-side driver LSI is reduced to half as compared with conventional constitution, so the cost is reduced.</p> |
