In the preparation of electroluminescence bydrophilic resin layers (2,12) and hydrophobic resin layers (1,11) are formed in the same pattern on the upper and lower parts of the element. Between hydrophilic resin layers (2,12) aluminium foil (6), dielectric layer (5), light emitting phosphor layer (4), and transparent electrode (3) are laminated successively. The composition (4) is prepared by adding 1-10 wt.% polyvinyl butyral resin and 0.1-5 wt.% Si coupling agent to the major component, cyanoethyl cellulose resin (E= 12-20).
