The centreless grinder is for round work, particularly car-engine inlet and exhaust valves, forming the stem and profiled head simultaneously. The controlling disc (5) is of constant cylindrical shape, and can be parallel to the axis of the work. There can be an axial thrust drive (12) holding the work (1) permanently against a fixed stop (10) at the other end. ADVANTAGE - Precisison removal of large amount of material.
