PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser light source device which can change switch between a single mode and a multimode from one semiconductor laser light source and to provide an optical information recording device and an optical information reproducing device.

SOLUTION: In a wavelength variable type laser light source device which is equipped with a semiconductor laser and a diffraction grating, the laser light source device in which a polarization direction transducer element and a polarizing beam splitter are arranged in an optical train between the semiconductor laser and the diffraction grating.
