PURPOSE:To facilitate sticking of polarizing plates to liquid crystal cells for which plastic substrates are used by assembling plastic substrates formed with many electrodes and dividing individual cells after simultaneously sticking the polarizing plates. CONSTITUTION:Common electrodes are formed on a common side substrate of a substrate 1 consisting of a plastic film and segment electrodes on a segment side substrate in the same number. Further, the primary cutting points of the common electrode substrate are cut by cutting blade. Orienting materials 8 are then applied on both side substrates and are baked; thereafter, the coatings are subjected to an orientation treatment by rubbing in a prescribed direction. The substrates are then screen printed with an epoxy sealing material 6 and are subjected to a treatment for conducting the upper and lower sides, following which gap materials 7 are applied on the surface and after both substrates are assembled, the sealing material 6 is cured by heating. The upper polarizing plates 9 and the lower polarizing plates 10 cut at the points coinciding with the primary cutting points 11 are stuck to many pieces of simultaneously assembled liquid crystal cells and thereafter, the entire part is cut at secondary cutting points 12 to separate the liquid crystal cells, into cell units. |
