<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress cavitation. SOLUTION: This hydraulic tensioner comprises a housing 20 formed with a hole 23 defining a chamber 22, a piston 40 fitted slidably in the hole 23, a spring 60 for pressing the piston 40 out of the hole 23, a passage 24 defined inside the housing 20 to connect the chamber 22 up to a pressure fluid source, and a check valve 100 interposed in the passage 24 connecting the chamber 22 and the pressure fluid source to allow the flow of fluid into the chamber 22 and check the counter fluid flow. The check valve 100 includes a seat 4 and a movable valve element, which is made up of a disk 1 as a valve closure member and a stem 5 connected to the piston 40 for movement following it.</p> |
