Method for producing permanent folds on fabric surfaces made of cellulose fibre or a mixture of cellulose and synthetic fibres, characterised in that the fibre is impregnated for 10-15 hours with water solution containing from 1 to 10% parts by weight of 2-methyl-2-hydroxyethyl --urea, from 0.1 to 1% parts by weight of 2-hydroxy-succinic acid, from 0.1 to 1.5% parts by weight of hydroxypropane tricarboxyl acid and from 1 to 10% parts by weight of silicic acid ester derivatives, followed by neutralisation in the solution of soda or lye, rinsing and drying in unstressed state at the temperature up to 180 degrees C.
