PURPOSE: An apparatus for embodying a conversation type voice recognition in a portable telephone using a speaker phone and method for controlling the same are provided to reduce an error generation when user attempts a call. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for embodying a conversation type voice recognition in a portable telephone using a speaker phone includes a memory(100), a mike(200), a CODEC part(300), a vocoder(410), a control part(500), a display part(600), and a speaker phone(700). The memory is to store a specific coefficient. The mike is to offer an output analog voice data. The CODEC part is to transform a PCM voice data into an analog voice data and output. The vocoder is to restore QCELP signal to a PCM voice data. The control part is to output a control order like as re-input of a call signal to user. The display part is to display a state information of the portable telephone. The speaker phone is to re-transmit a call attempt voice to user.
