PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital information distribution system in which downloaded data are freely moved in recording media of a user and being enjoyed while protection for a copyright is appropriately made. SOLUTION: Purchased digital information is ciphered in an information distribution terminal 10 based on intrinsic ID information and written into an attachable and detachable memory 30. If data are to be copied between attachable and detachable memories, the information in the attachable and detachable memory is deleted at the information distributing terminal of an original copy site and the information, which is identical to the deleted information, is written into the attachable and detachable memory of the site where a copying is being conducted. Thus, the substance of digital information is freely moved in the distribution system or arbitrary attachable and detachable memories. The substance of the digital information, which is downloaded once, exists only in one place i.e., either in the system or any one of the attachable and detachable memories. |
